The Product & Engineering (P&E) Strategy Team's purpose is to ask the right questions, foster big thinking and ensure execution of the answers. The team's work will shape the future of P&E (and Mastercard) by developing and driving timely execution of the strategy.
The role of the senior analyst is to drive insights, analytics and project management to support the formulation and execution of the P&E strategy by partnering with the product and engineering teams.
The role would provide great exposure to the big picture and would include opportunities to participate in senior level discussions with Product Executives as necessary or opportune.
Candidate should be intellectually curious, energetic, operate with urgency and have discipline in prioritizing efforts while being comfortable with ambiguity.
Preference for Purchase or London based but not a must.
Role
The role entails two key areas of focus:
1. Insights and Analytics:
• Responsible for analytics and research to support strategy insights of P&E strategy team to propel prioritized areas while helping identify and articulate future priorities for P&E. Performs independent research and data collection as relevant.
• Assists with content development and preparation of materials for Exec meetings, Board presentations, Investment Community Meetings etc.
• Owns and executes ad-hoc projects or targeted assignments.
• Creates and maintains repository of knowledge: analytics, research, market insights such as competitive intelligence relating to product.
2. Project Management:
• Works with other members of the Strategy team to help coordination of projects across stakeholders, drives work through setting of timelines and milestones
• Maintains and updates project plans and action lists through timely follow ups with relevant teams
• Prepares content and articulate insights for quarterly updates with senior management
Experiences
Demonstrated knowledge of Mastercard (such as business model, strategy, competitive landscape)
Demonstrated track record in working across different business teams, navigating and building relationships with senior stakeholders, understanding business priorities while bringing critical thinking
Proven ability to multi task and manage execution of multiple projects effectively
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
Experience conducting accurate financial analysis, working with large data sets, synthesizing large amounts of information and summarizing insightful findings
