OVERVIEW:
• This is a global role instrumental in supporting the Corporate Development Lead for Asia Pacific in developing, articulating and executing MasterCard's Corporate Development initiatives alongside the Senior Leadership, Regional and Global Product and Services teams to further the Company's strategy in Asia Pacific.
• The candidate will support in identifying and analyzing potential investment, mergers, acquisitions and divestiture opportunities closely working with business and support functions and help in making recommendations on the potential impact of an opportunity on the organization's capabilities and product portfolio

ROLE:
• Performs supporting activities for investments, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures in AP and where required in Global situations; builds financial models and financial business cases in preparation for negotiations
• Assist with sector analysis to develop potential pipeline and funnel of candidates based on capability gap, pain point or opportunity identified by business which needs to be addressed through inorganic strategy
• Performs analysis to support strategic acquisitions and investments in order to identify and evaluate investments that support the global growth strategy
• Supports all aspects of the investment / acquisition process including valuation, due diligence, coordination with external investment bankers and financial advisors, transactions support, negotiations support
• Activities include identifying potential partners, building a business case, conducting related analyses, participating in negotiations and due diligence
• Performs analysis to help determine the financial impact and risks of potential acquisitions and investments and alternates
• Assist businesses in certain situations in their capability gap / opportunity analysis exercise
• Records, maintains and updates data base on regular basis of potential opportunities in the region and the organization action / response to those opportunities
• Prepares regular updates to be provided to the AP Leadership team on pipeline and review documents
• Communicate with different areas of the organization to validate and coordinate market and product priorities at the regional and corporate level w.r.t Corporate Development Activities
• Support, coordinate and lead cross-functional and cross-regional teams with no direct reporting lines.

ALL ABOUT YOU:
• Strong Commercial and Financial acumen and Modeling skills are a must for the role. Experience in Investment Banking and / or Consulting is a strong plus. Experience conducting accurate financial analysis and building complex financial models to support a successful acquisition
• Experience working with large data sets, synthesizing large amounts of information and summarizing insightful findings on potential acquisition and investments
• Relevant industry knowledge and appetite/curiosity for exploration and constant update on market and industry trends and their impact on MasterCard's business model
• Familiarity with markets in AP and having a network of relationships across the technology and payments ecosystem, venture capital, private equity and investment banking firms will be a plus
• Demonstrated success in supporting Strategy, Investment and Corporate Development activities.
• Investment Banking/ Private Equity / Venture Capital / Consulting experience with a background in payments/ technology preferred - knowledge of MasterCard products and services a strong plus.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English will be preferred for work around the North Asia region
• The position will be based out of Singapore
• Bachelor's degree required, MBA or postgraduate preferred
• Previous experience in a global/international role preferred - strong multi-cultural sensibility required
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills and the ability to influence across Mastercard
• Strong Process and Project Management skills - able to understand and coordinate complex organizational processes and consolidate input from multiple stakeholders
• Highly motivated / Strong work ethic – Proven commitment to adapt and champion time sensitive/mission critical processes operating in a global and matrix-type organization
• Fast learner and able to link diverse sources of information to our business including ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate findings in a compelling manner to internal and external audiences which include senior level executives
• Ability to link data analysis with business implications and a strong commercial acumen will be an advantage
• Strong PowerPoint/Excel skills. Previous experience in developing Board level materials well regarded
• Sound judgment to act autonomously and identify emerging issues and escalate them as required
• Ability to occasionally travel internationally.
