Job Title

Director, Corporate CommunicationsThe global communication team's mission is to drive business performance and a world-class culture through communication that inspires, engages, educates, and connects Mastercard employees, customers, partners and shareholders. We are customer-centric, data-driven and creative-minded.

The director of corporate communications will report to the senior vice president of communications. Responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of integrated communications activities including media relations, social media, content creation, employee communications and issues management. The ideal candidate should have a combination of internal and external communications, corporate public affairs experience, and a strong track record of media relations.

This individual will work with a team of high-performing individuals to look holistically at where and how the company shows up. The candidate will connect the dots between the day-to-day products and solutions, thought leadership and the greater promise of Mastercard's ability to do well and do good.

Role
• Build, protect and enhance Mastercard's reputation through clear and impactful strategic employee and proactive external communications in support of reputation themes.
• Develop a deep understanding of business-line activity and how this can be amplified through external communications, to enhance our global reputation.
• Develop strong stakeholder relationships within relevant business areas and collaborate with these stakeholders to develop and influence story ideas.
• Work closely with other external-facing teams in Communications, Public Affairs, Marketing, Investor Relations, Human Resources, etc. to ensure seamless alignment of messaging.
• Establish strong relationships with priority media targets to deliver coverage for relevant Global campaigns and positioning for the global businesses that reinforces Mastercard's priorities.
• Ensure consistent messaging reflecting Mastercard's and purpose across print, broadcast, digital and social media.
• Identify opportunities for cross-border and cross-business media activity in support of key trade/business corridors or collaboration efforts.
• Manage and mitigate arising issues, by building strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure early warning and sharing of information.
• Collaborate effectively across the marketing and communications teams to deliver global employee campaigns locally, ensuring appropriate use of channels and language for the country audience.
• Proactively seek out and identify media opportunities — as well as situations that could adversely impact Mastercard's reputation— and coordinate strategies and tactics to promote and protect the integrity of the company.
